India’s ambitious journey towards a sustainable future has propelled it to the forefront of the global renewable energy landscape. Dr Sunit Tyagi, the Founder and Managing Director of InSolare Energy, delved into the opportunities, challenges, and future of India’s renewable energy aspirations.
Dr Tyagi emphasized India’s audacious goal of sourcing over 50% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030, with a specific focus on achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel energy.
Dr Tyagi highlighted that while solar power has emerged as a key driver of this transition, significant hurdles remain. Capacity building, financing, land acquisition, and regulatory approvals continue to pose challenges. Grid connectivity and consistent regulatory frameworks are also critical factors that demand immediate attention. Although policies are being formulated, robust implementation will be essential for success.
